When I was 12, I heard someone say, "You need to re-decorate your mind". We have all heard the saying, "You are what you eat".
That goes for our minds as well. What we put into our heads, these ideas that we hear or read, they shape us.
It's like wallpaper. What we hear or read gets rolled onto the walls of our mind. It stays with us. It's like our mind is in a room and is staring at the walls filled with what you are hearing and reading.
What do you want your mind to be looking at? Do you want it to be looking at tacky wallpaper, rotten wallpaper, moldy wallpaper? Or uplifting, beautiful wallpaper?
Sometimes when I find myself feeling bored or depressed or just in a bad mood, I think, "What am I putting into my mind? What does wallpaper of my mind look like right now? Do I need to start redecorating?"
